Core Curriculum

The Core Curriculum Materials are jointly produced by the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) and the World Bank Group to provide non-commercial training materials for insurance supervisors. It consists of 36 basic-level modules and five advanced-level case studies that provide comprehensive training in the principal areas of insurance supervision. Users can pick and choose topics of special interest in any order that suits their needs.

During the three-year project for developing the materials, the World Bank Group provided strong leadership and financial support of USD 1.5 million, including an annual grant totaling USD 600,000 over the three years. The IAIS thanks the World Bank Group for its unwavering support and effort throughout the development of the project.
The IAIS encourages competent institutions as well as its members to use the materials widely in their education & training programs in line with its objectives.

Interested parties are requested to submit the following two documents at least two months in advance to the usage:
 
  • an Application Form in electronic form, including a summary of the planned education & training programs to the IAIS secretariat ( iais@bis.org).
  • an Agreement, signed by the applicant's authorised signatory by fax or mail.

The IAIS will, jointly with the World Bank, make a decision on the approval at latest one month after the reception of the documents and inform the applicant of the decision.
