What are the Insurance Laws?

The Insurance Laws Database is an online database facility, which collects comprehensive data about insurance laws, regulations and practices of contributing jurisdictions. It provides easy access to and comparison of legal aspects of insurance supervision and contributes to the improvement and mutual understanding of the different insurance supervisory systems. Each contributing jurisdiction completes the electronic questionnaire online and annually updates replies. Shortly after the update, the data are automatically consolidated in a single database, which produces individual and aggregated reports.

The Insurance Laws is available to IAIS Members.

Starting January 2006, IAIS Observers and on a case by case basis, also non-member supervisors and non-profit or academic institutions may be granted access. For those non-member supervisors who wish to have access to the Datatabaes, the signed form of "Principles and Terms of Use for databases forcontributors", "database access application form" and additional details will need to be returnedto the IAIS Secretariat. For those Observers, and non-profit or academic institutions who wish to have access to the Databases, the signed form of " Principles and Terms of Use for databases for non-contributors", " database access application form " and additional details will need to be returned to the IAIS Secretariat.
