The IAIS and A2ii have published a joint note focusing on the role of supervisors in the design, development and implementation of insurance-based programmes to address pandemic protection gaps, and outlining the role that supervisors can play as future initiatives are developed.
The report explores the experiences and challenges of insurance supervisors as they were forced to adapt to prolonged remote working conditions during the Covid-19 pandemic. The report was prepared jointly by the IAIS secretariat and staff members of the Financial Stability Institute (FSI) of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS).
