Public consultation of the review of the IIM assessment methodology
Comments due by 6 February 2023 midnight CET
Background information
The IAIS will continue to enhance the Holistic Framework for systemic risk in insurance, including through its triannual review of the risk assessment in the Global Monitoring Exercise.
In support of this effort, the IAIS is launching a public consultation seeking input on the individual insurer monitoring (IIM) assessment methodology used to calculate individual insurers’ systemic risk scores.
The objective of this public consultation is to seek stakeholder input on the review of the IIM assessment methodology for the next three-year cycle of application. Input received will be considered in the finalisation of the IIM assessment methodology and will be reflected in an updated GME document which will be published in 2023.
Input is invited by 6 February 2023 24.00 (Basel time). Some consultation questions are optional, so stakeholders may comment only on a subset of questions. After this deadline, the consultation tool will be closed, and it will no longer be possible to submit comments.
A public background session will be held via webinar on 10 January 2023 at 13:00 – 15:00 CET to present the consultation paper and the publication on the liquidity metrics. Click here for details and registration.
